LIVE: A LOVE LETTER TO MY SLUTTY VALENTINE FEST

BEING A SLUT NEVER FELT SO DAMN GOOD

Whether you’re in love, lust, or you’ve sworn off romance entirely, Valentine’s Day is pretty hard to ignore. Taking over the Echo and Echoplex, Basic Cable Programming’s inaugural My Slutty Valentine Fest gave us all something to swoon about.

Spread across three stages, the one-night-only affair was jam-packed with local sweethearts like Dove Armitage, Diode, Bonavega, Shamon Cassette, and Cancer Christ, along with out-of-towners such as Atlanta punks Upchuck. Genre monogamy is so outdated.

The best part of all the pink-and-red, heart-adorned evening was the welcoming environment MSV fostered. It brought the community together so freaks and geeks from every corner of the scene could unite for the love of music, moshing, friendship, and a plain old good time. Thanks to Basic Cable Programming for reminding us that we’ve got each other, and there’s always a reason to party on.

Check out more highlights from the night below, including a recap video featuring music by Self Improvement. Being a slut never felt so good.
