South Bay’s SLAUGHTERHOUSE Share New Single + Gear up for first LA show with new lineup - WELCOME BACK BABY

Today SLAUGHTERHOUSE have shared a new track - ‘POSION’ comes in as the bands first official release since 2022 and we couldn’t be more stoked on it. During this time Slaughterhouse has ran through a couple of lineup changes with Meriel O’Connell joining the group on vox as longtime lead Veronica Molidor has stepped away from the band to pursue other endeavors.

Sharp and refined like the bands debut LP, ‘Poison’ was recorded with producer Cameron Webb in Santa Ana along with guidance from the bands longtime friend Fletcher (Pennywise). The track details the toxicity of our modern social media age and the effect it has on how we see ourselves and the world around us, on the lyrical content O’Connell explains:

The song is about society being subjected to constant overwhelming stimulus on our phones, devices, etc that creates this culture of comparison, disposability, and lack of fulfillment in our daily lives. There’s another component where these companies and corporations who push apps, social media, etc aren’t making these things just for fun, it’s all for profit. To keep us searching for more rather than being satisfied by ourselves and our immediate surroundings, and ultimately them knowing & tracking everything about us algorithmically.

It’s this lack of escapism that makes it more difficult for us to turn inwards & go into our own internal lives and spaces, and makes us place value on what we’re putting out externally rather than consider how we can be internally fulfilled, fill up our own cups

Take a listen to ‘Poison’ below and welcome in the new era of Slaughterhouse as they perform this weekend in Los Angeles at Permanent Records Roadhouse alongside Suzie True, Ughh, and Integra Pink for Reckless Magazines 4 Year Anniversary (tickets)
