Bonavega’s Electric Anti-Valentine Mantra, “Love Witch”

Bonavega continues to be one of the most unique personas in the LA music scene. The 80s comes alive when this glam-rockstar takes the stage, coupled with the androgyneous style that emboldens Bonavega as an underdog to revitalize shock-rock, glam-rock — whatever your conservative parents hate to call it.

“Love Witch,” a perfect display of Bonavega’s catchy style. The track’s disposition makes me think of the re-trending KISS hit, “I Was Made For Lovin’ You.” Their similarities are short-lived, though.

A cherry-bomb of electrofused-pop bathes “Love Witch” in a retro-future-theatric spaghetti noodle of adjectives and metaphors that hardly scratches the surface of what — let alone who — Bonavega is. Or, in other words, refer back to the first line of this article. “Love Witch” is an excellent continuation of an air-tight discography.

Did we mention there’s a music video? Like most of his productions, you’ll see the throwbacks that Bonavega tethers his sound to. Though short, Bonavega manages to maximize the character he can wedge into this single.

Check out Bonavega’s self-proclaimed anti-valentine anthem in “Love Witch” today on all your favorite platforms, and rock out to the music video of the 2080s to come.
