LA-based musician MACKandgold has shared her latest single, an explosive track detailing the loyalty of unconditional love in relationships titled ‘I’m Your Dog’
Mackenzie Graham’s unique blend of dance-able pop and soul music is on display fully as she trades the slower pace of previous works for a new, explosive sound thats even more ‘jumping around singing your damn heart out’ then ever before. On ‘I’m Your Dog’ MACKandgold details the feelings of being in a relationship, platonic or romantic, and being so lovingly committed that you’ll remain loyal through thick and thin - like a dog.
“It’s so literal. It’s about unconditional love and the way I feel in relationships and deep friendships…I wrote the riff with my looper, I love finding top line guitar parts over chord progressions, then I let them sit in until inspiration hits.
I was with a friend at a bar fresh out of a break up, venting about how great of a partner I think I am I yelled something like “How can you do this to me? IM YOUR DOG!” I immediately went home to write and it flew out of my body onto paper in an hour. This sarcastic and cheesy yet oh so true anthem for all us dog-people.
