Urns & Argyles Share Music Video For Debut Single 'Elsewhere'

Los Angeles, CA’s Urns & Argyles share the music video for their loud first single ‘Elsewhere’

Urns & Argyles were just starting to make their way through the Los Angeles music scene when COVID-19 hit and upended all live gigs but now, a year into what is (hopefully) the final stretch of the pandemic, the group has shared their first single titled ‘Elsewhere’ - it’s a loud blend of melodic noise and grunge, and the video fucking rips.

We spoke with Urns & Argyles about the creative process behind the video and the new track:

Mark: For our first video we really wanted to capture our live energy and what we look like when we perform while also having some sort of plot mixed in. The performance shots pretty much speak for themselves while the scenes with the mirror people give the video more of a direction.

Jason: The aggressive verses and lighter, more melodic choruses create a dichotomy in the song so for the video we wanted to emphasize that through the performance and the dinner scenes. While the performance shots are filled with energy, the dinner shots are more somber.

Nich: We thought about what it meant to actually be elsewhere and what that looks like in our heads. That's when we came up with the table scene in the middle section of the song. We wanted that setting to feel unfamiliar and uncomfortable and contribute to the rising tension in the song.

Mark: We all have reflective instruments so the mirror concept came together pretty naturally. We had everyone hold mirrors in front of their faces to create some unsettling anonymity and to alienate us from the other people in the video.
